THEY HAVE THE FIREPOWER. YOU HAVE THE PHYSICS.

The Void Armada has arrived, and Earth's defenses are offline. You pilot the AEGIS Kinetic Reflector, the last line of defense between the neon skyline and total annihilation.

Backslash is a high-score arcade game with a twist: You cannot shoot. You must catch enemy fire on your shield, calculate the angle, and ricochet it back into the swarm.

HOW TO PLAY

  • DEFEND: Protect the City Sectors at the bottom of the screen.
  • REFLECT: Intercept RED (Enemy) bullets. Upon contact, they turn CYAN (Friendly) and reflect upward.
  • DESTROY: Friendly bullets destroy enemies and cut through incoming fire.
  • SURVIVE: Prioritize your targets. The City can take a few hits from the "Rain," but the "Bombs" will wipe you out.

CONTROLS

  • Move: Mouse or Touch to move the shield
  • Pause: ESC

⚠️ PROTOTYPE STATUS

Backslash is currently in active development by The Neon Arcade. This build represents the core gameplay loop (Waves 1-5).

I NEED YOUR FEEDBACK: I am balancing the difficulty and the physics feel. Please let me know in the comments:

  1. Does the paddle movement feel responsive enough?
  2. Is the City health too high or too low?
  3. What is your high score?

i didn't count my high score :( so i feel the game is pretty cool, the paddle moves fine, the city is ok, and i like the looking of the game. Good job!

Yeah, I'm not saving high scores currently.  I guess I could!
Thank you for checking it out and I'm happy you enjoyed it!
